Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve gathered all the details you need to make your visit to Cape Cod seamless and enjoyable.

What is The Underwood Estate?

The Underwood Estate is a private waterfront property in Chatham, Massachusetts, nestled on seven acres of Cape Cod coastline. Surrounded by lush greenery and serene water views, it provides the perfect setting for our coastal wedding celebration.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors on the lawn overlooking the water. The reception will be held under a sailcloth tent on the property.

What will the weather be like?

Early June on Cape Cod is one of our favorite times of year. Daytime temperatures typically range from the mid-60s to low 70s, with cooler evenings by the water. We recommend bringing a light layer for the evening.

Are children invited?

While we adore the little ones in our lives, our wedding weekend will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives parents an opportunity to relax and enjoy a weekend away. Thank you for your understanding.

Do I have a plus-one?

Due to venue capacity, attendance is limited to those listed on the invitation. If a guest has been invited with a plus-one, it will be clearly indicated on their invitation.

Is there parking available?

Yes. Parking is available at all wedding weekend events. Please visit the Transportation page for detailed parking and transportation information.

What is the dress code?

The dress code is formal. For gentlemen, we suggest suits. For ladies, midi or floor-length dresses or dressy separates are all welcome. Please note that the ceremony, cocktail hour, and much of the evening will take place on grass, so we recommend choosing footwear accordingly.

Will there be transportation?

Yes. Transportation will be provided throughout the weekend for guests staying at the Chatham Wayside Inn and those in the center of Chatham. Please visit the Transportation page for schedules and additional details.

When should I RSVP?

Your RSVP deadline will be noted on your formal invitation. If you know in advance that you will be unable to attend, we would greatly appreciate hearing from us as soon as possible.
